Truth

“Truth suffers, but never perishes.” In the face of post-truth, we educate to distinguish what is true from what is not.

From an educational perspective, students must learn to tell truth from falsehood, rejecting the idea that “anything goes.” The current era, often called the “post-truth” age, is seen as a rebranded form of falsehood—echoing Saint Teresa’s sentiment: “Truth suffers, but never perishes.”

Etymologically, the Greek word for truth, alétheia, means the opposite of oblivion: that which endures, the imperishable.

In practical terms, truth is expressed through academic and professional skills such as critical thinking, independence, academic integrity, scientific rigour, and research and work methodology. The university’s core mission is dedicated to teaching truth and cultivating intelligence.
